Job Description:

Our client within the retail / FMCG sector, seeks an experienced Assistant Store Manager to be based in East London.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Matric Certificate
  • Strong Computer Literacy
  • Minimum of 3- 5years’ FMCG and management experience essential
  • Working experience with Arch Software is beneficial
  • Completed Tertiary Qualification in retail management would be highly advantageous
  • Valid driver license and own vehicle essential
  • Familiar with labour laws – sick leave, negligence etc.
  • Strong command of English
  • Extensive experience with maintaining and controlling inventory (perishables; stock management; rotations; wastage control, ordering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Food safety and hygiene control
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assistance with management of Store
  • Overall support to the Store Manager
  • Coordinate with the Store Manager and staff
  • Assist with Staff Management and HR related responsibilities
  • Provide quality and personalised service to customers
  • Inventory control and ensure Food safety and hygiene control
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct processes are implemented to increase efficiency
  • Assessing stock levels and assisting on the floor as required
  • Monitoring stock movements and current stock holdings
  • Monitoring promotions
  • Providing solutions for store improvement

Salary:  Basic offering of R10 000.00 – R20 000.00 negotiable, subject to candidate experience.
