Job Description:

Our client is looking to hire an experienced, ambitious and dynamic Sales Representative to join their team in Johannesburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven external sales and marketing experience of earthmoving equipment (Heavy duty Earthmoving Machinery) essential
  • Formal Marketing qualification advantageous
  • Strong understanding of any aspect of the products and their application in the earthmoving equipment environment
  • Proficiency in computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.), including utilizing customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • Valid Driver license essential
  • Own reliable vehicle essential
  • Must possess and maintain a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Generate and qualify leads
  • Continuous market and competition research
  • Monitor trends and developments in the earthmoving equipment industry in the territory
  • Develop and make presentations of the products
  • Assist clients in equipment selection based on the application
  • Develop sales proposals based on requirements and discuss with clients;
  • Active follow-up of offers
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints by means of phone, email or in person
  • Maintain regular sales activity records and reports
  • Ensure adequate internal communication with other departments being involved in the sales process
  • Assist in preparation and/or selection of local sales promotional material;
  • Communicate with and provide service to all walk-in and call-in customers
  • Actively solicits new equipment customers
  • Use all reasonable methods of prospecting for new customers on a daily basis primarily via sales calls to individuals and businesses within specific area assigned
  • Follow up with and provide on-going service to existing customers
  • Write sales order and process paperwork in accordance with established company policies
  • Deliver new equipment, explain warranty and service policies
  • Attend sales and training meetings
  • Prepare and submit sales call reports, prospect lists and lost sales reports
  • Continually study equipment specifications to improve product knowledge
  • Work with all departments in harmony

Salary:  Comparative market-related salary, subject to candidate experience.
