JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
CMT Production Shift Supervisor Position
The position would entail managing a team of machine operators for a full shift in the CMT making department. The company operates both a day-and-night shift, and the supervisor must be able to work either shift which is scheduled in advance. The main area of responsibility focuses on the general management of staff, production targets and quality.
EDUCATION / COMPUTER PACKAGES:
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience as supervisor or manager in a textile CMT or Industry-related experience (I.E. Clothing industry/bag making industry/sample set/etc)
- Must be skilled machinist on wide variety of equipment and able to demonstrate & teach staff.
- Leadership, motivational and decision-making skills are critical.
- Quality control experience, with an Eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent pro-active organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve and met deadlines.
- Reliable, with high integrity and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Ability to keep a positive attitude and be a great team leader in a fast-paced high pressure environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee full production line and manage machinist team.
- Liaise with both senior CMT manager and Department heads as well as employees.
- Making sure employees that report to you meet performance expectations.
- Keeping employee attendance.
- Giving instructions or orders to subordinate employees.
- Troubleshoot problems that occur during production and instruct and communicate accordingly.
- Meeting deadlines and output.
- QA – Determine the quality of goods is maintained at all times.
- Maintains records and production paperwork.
- Ensuring that the work environment is safe, secure and healthy.
- Ensuring that all equipment and materials are in order
- Can maintain the production schedule and collect data about the production and teams performance and report on this.
- Assist with interviewing and hands-on evaluation of potential new employees
